Take it if you dare! This normative
apparatus is designed to give some idea of where your
organization is in respect to 21st century management.

This document was prepared as
"instant advice" for a
potential client. Your organization might
also suffer
from the very common problem at issue.
Because of the
circumstances under which this was
written, it is not as serious and as
specific as what you would get under
our Instant Consulting service, being
somewhat on the humorous side
and rather general in suggestions.
However, it should give an idea of how
this process works.

A PowerPoint piece designed as a
kind of "thought
experiment": Can the basis of all
supervisory/management principles be
conveyed in fifteen minutes in one set
of guidelines? Of course, the real
answer is "no". But this
document, written for a very backward
organization, may give some food for
thought. Fair use:
Read only; do not download or
copy.
This piece was drafted for an OD
intervention that we designed and
managed. In our view, one of the most
important cultural improvements than
any organization can make is to get
away from an ineffective style for
meetings. Having ground rules is a
good way to promote such change. Of
course such material should be developed individuals
involved so as to meet specific organizational needs, but we
think this item provides a useful sample. The idea behind this
PowerPoint (admittedly an often abused format) version is that
the separate pagination allows the group to focus on one
particular guide at each meeting for learning purposes in the
initial stage of applying the ground rules.
